St Merryn Medical is Dr Steve Derry: an independent doctor, NHS GP and Accident & Emergency Department medic.

I work as an independent GP in North Cornwall, an NHS GP in Port Isaac Practice and in the Treliske A&E department in Truro.

Within my work, I have developed a special interest in musculoskeletal health and I’ve been holding regular joint and soft tissue injection clinics for over 10 years.

A holistic approach

I focus my practice on understanding and treating the whole person, rather than just the individual medical problem. I work within the team at Cornwall Health Hub, the complete medical, physiotherapy and rehabilitation service.

About Me

I’ve lived in Cornwall for most of my life, with St Merryn being my home for the last 30 years. I’m a keen surfer and an ex-lifeguard and lifeguard manager in the RNLI. I’m heavily involved with my local surf lifesaving club at Harlyn Bay and I’m the Medical Officer for the Padstow Lifeboat.

When not surfing, spending time with my family or working, you’ll find me running on our amazing coast paths or even rock climbing on the golden granite of West Cornwall.
